Theater Schmeater is pleased to announce that it will present a world premiere adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s beloved masterpiece The Wind in the Willows as an outdoor production at the Volunteer Park Amphitheater. The Wind in the Willows runs at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays beginning on July 12th and running through August 10th. All performances are free to the public.

Mr. Scrimshaw’s play revolves around the magic and horror of a first date. Miranda and Jeffrey are dining in Café Serendipity where the normal uncertainties and unpredictability of any new relationship is tinged by the whims and, sometimes, cruelties of the audience. Suffering all the slings and arrows that any new relationship can muster, Adventures in Mating offers the unaccustomed pleasure of allowing the audience to aim said missiles at the unfortunate Miranda and Jeffrey. An “interactive” play in which the audience decides on Miranda and Jeffrey’s next move, Adventures in Mating (Seattle) is a play that can honestly promise, “If you’ve seen it once, you haven’t seen it.”
