The 2011 Season
Crooked
by Catherine Trieschmann
Directed by
It's tough being an adolescent, and doubly so when you're different. Catherine Trieschmann's "Crooked" is the story of Laney, a fourteen year old aspiring writer with dystonia, who, along with her recently divorced mother Elise, moves back to her mother's childhood home. As she endeavors to fit in at her new school, Laney befriends Maribel, the daughter of a Southern evangelical pastor. Laney struggles to find her own identity as this cunningly written tale explores the boundaries of teenage rebellion, and the consequences of one's actions. A 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival favorite.
